New Procedures For Dealing With Employment Law Claims

The Workplace Relations Act 2015 is due to commence on 1st October 2015.

The Act provides for sweeping reforms in the area of resolution of workplace disputes and the enforcement of Employment Law Rights in Ireland.

At the present time there are several different bodies and institutions involved in the processing of employment claims. Under the new Act this will be greatly simplified. The Act provides for the creation of one forum for hearing initial complaints, the Workplace Relations Commission, and one single Appeal Body consisting of a new Labour Court.

It is hoped that the new system will simplify matters with regard to the processing of employment claims, and will also improve workplace relations and compliance levels for the benefit of employers and employees alike.
